    I got the chance to tuck away a little today and work on a small project. On Friday, I had an idea at school: 3D print templates for students to use to make cardboard bridges. While at work on Friday, to help distract me, I worked on a sample build. Over this weekend, I designed and 3D printed some stencils to use. Today, I built a sample.

    I think it worked out pretty well, but I’ve already got some ideas for improvements, which I’ll wait on. Now, I’m going to try using them with my students. Having these side-foci helps me get through the days.

    It’s not like me to want to put up pictures at work, but I want one of Emi on my desk so I 3D printed a picture frame to go with it.

    Back when I was making a podcast, I made an episode about making teaching work for you. I imagine I said something about…you know, I don’t have a clue what I would’ve said on the topic. Today, however, I’ve been reminded about the notion because I’d like to test out a few ideas in my classroom.

    Just over a week ago, I planted some seeds in the tiny garden we have to the side of our house. It’s a small patch on a sidewalk leading to the stairs that access the garage. I figured I’d design and 3D print a watering can for when I need to water the garden. It worked but it didn’t.

    I gave my students “toilet tokens” today. Last night, I printed off some miniature toilets on my 3D printer and each of my students in one of my classes one. I’ve had enough of them leaving class every single day.
