Prompt: Write about questioning your path.
Alright, the prompt for today, June 20th, 2026, is: Write about questioning your path.
Well, this feels like a big topic.
I don’t know that I’m sure about any of the paths I’ve taken—whether it’s the writing and how far I can take that, or the woodworking, or SANA Stationery & Gifts as a whole. Even my career as a teacher—I don’t know how far I want to take that or how committed I am to it either.
I think this whole last couple of months—really the last three months since I hurt my wrist and have been largely housebound and limited in what I can do—has given me an opportunity to think through some things.
Doubt has certainly played a role in all of this and in questioning how far I can take everything. But it’s also part of the process, right? Part of understanding how much you’re willing to sit with that doubt, question it, and come to some sort of understanding so that you can move forward.
And I think that’s kind of where I’m at right now.
With SANA Stationery & Gifts, to be more specific, I don’t know how long I can keep it going and make it a viable thing. It is expensive to keep it running, and there are costs involved. The world generally is getting more expensive. But there’s also a part of me that has a really hard time with the notion of giving it up.
So I don’t know if that’s doubt speaking, or if it’s something else. Maybe it’s just uncertainty. I suppose uncertainty and doubt are pretty similar.
With the writing, too, I doubt myself a lot. I don’t know how good my writing is. That’s probably because I don’t read as much as I should, but it’s also because I don’t know that I have anything to say that hasn’t already been said—or that I could say it in a more meaningful or poignant way.
So I think the doubt permeates everything.
And part of the process I’m going through right now is trying to work through that doubt.
I don’t know if I said anything there. I’m doubting myself on all of this.
Right on.
