Day 30 – Vision

Today’s prompt: What are you beginning to envision for yourself this year?

This is going to be a stretch…

I was looking at our bookshelf today, trying to pick out the titles that I’d read. There are seven shelves, each holding about 18 books, totalling approximately 126 books. If I were to read at the pace that I’m currently reading at, accounting for the titles that I’ve already read, I’d need about 50 years to finish reading what’s sitting there.

I do want to read more. I would like to know myself to be someone who reads. It’s not even that I don’t enjoy it, it’s just that I don’t do it.

We don’t want Emi growing up staring at screens. We have to emulate for her what we think are healthy habits. If I’m constantly staring at a screen, she’ll do the same, no matter how many times I tell her otherwise. Besides, reading is just better for your brain. You see the world differently when you read.
