Today’s prompt: What deserves to be celebrated in your life right now – even quietly?
Each day seems to be getting better, and easier, with adjusting to life with Emi. The struggle, if it can be called that – at times it definitely is, is more than worth it. Every small gain, the tiniest growth, is a cause for celebration.
It’s the things we take for granted, like the pattern on a pillow case, that she is starting to notice, to enjoy, to feel joy from. How do we go back to noticing the world with such wonderment? Instead, we scroll through an endless feed of videos on a device that fits in our hand. The world, in its entirety, is right in front of our eyes, if we would just look up.
Fresh eyes would make every experience a cause for celebration. It would impede any ability we have to function because we’d just stand surprised and amazed throughout our days. Imagine if we could get even just five minutes of that ignorance each day. That would be something to celebrate.
Today’s prompt comes from Letters’ Lounge.
