Today’s prompt: Where has courage shown up for you lately – in small or unseen ways?
I pushed back on a colleague who was doing something that I thought was wrong. Essentially, she wanted me to make up time she was “losing” because a planned activity was scheduled during our co-teaching period. I’m usually quite amicable and want to make things work – I could be described as a “people pleaser” – but I reached a level of annoyance that I couldn’t ignore.
I sent her an email. I wish I had spoken up when she brought it up. It often takes me some time to think through things, as I’m not very quick on my feet. I don’t run.
I would like to be more self-assured, knowing that I’ll be okay even if things don’t go to plan, because I will be. I admire people who have the courage to be themselves in every situation.
