Day 6 – Light

Today’s Prompt: Where is the light finding you lately, and what is it showing you?

I keep a nightlight on in my bathroom so that I don’t have to face the row of six 100 watt bulbs that line the top of the mirror in the morning. I use the hood fan light when I make my coffee in the morning, and a lamp when writing my morning pages. When I get to work, I turn on only one of the three available rows until the students arrive; I keep the classroom door closed to block out the light from the hallway, and to deter people from alighting with their levity. I keep my iPhone as dim as possible, same with my Kobo.

I don’t like wearing sunglasses, but I will use the visor when driving. My alarm clock has a wake up light that takes 15 minutes to come to full brightness, which I’ve set to 12 out of 20, but I also set an alarm on my phone. I find it easiest to fall asleep with my iPad playing a movie or TV show, but I have to close my eyes if I want to get any rest.
