I recently saw one of Armen Adamjan’s videos in which he demonstrated the myriads of ways you can use an onion. From making your own garlic powder with the skins to cleaning a barbecue grill with half of one, an onion is a versatile vegetable.
Here’s the video:
I have a really hard time with wasting food. It’s not that I don’t but it’s a problem I’d like to solve. Adamjan’s video got me wondering if using an onion for anything other than eating was a good use of it. Is this one of the ways nature provides?
Essentially, I guess what I’m asking is can food be something other-than-food, too? Is a stick of dried spaghetti wasted when it’s used to light a candle? Are bananas being used legitimately when used as a prop in a comedy sketch? Are food fights in food’s bailiwick?
Indeed, is using food in all of the ways it can used the intended way?
